For teachers and community organizers looking to encourage students to walk and bike to school, the National Center for Safe Routes to School has partnered with America Walks to provide trainings, events, and webinars.

EETAP and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Online Courses

The Environmental Education and Training Partnership (EETAP) and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point offer five online courses for students and professionals in the field of environmental education: Needs Assessment in Environmental Education and Interpretation, Making EE Relevant for Culturally Diverse Audiences; Leadership Development in Natural Resources: Strategic Planning and Implementation; Environmental Education Theory and Practice; Applied Environmental Education Program Evaluation. Courses aim to improve the planning, implementation and content of environmental education.

Teton Science Schools Teacher Learner Center

The Teacher Learning Center of the Teton Science Schools engages teachers, administrators and life-long learners in professional development opportunities that integrate educational excellence, innovation, leadership and place. Programming opportunities include summer workshops, school consulting in science and place-based education from expert faculty and individualized programs developed for groups of educators at the Jackson Campus in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Project WET

Project WET (Water Education for Teachers) is an award-winning, nonprofit water education program and publisher. The program facilitates and promotes awareness, appreciation, knowledge, and stewardship of water resources through the dissemination of classroom-ready teaching aids and the establishment of internationally sponsored Project WET programs.

Project Learning Tree® is an award winning, multi-disciplinary environmental education program for educators and students in Pre K-12. PLT, a program of the American Forest Foundation, is one of the most widely used environmental education programs in the United States and abroad. Events are held nationwide.

Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History

The mission of the Roger Tory Peterson Institute of Natural History is to continue the legacy of Roger Tory Peterson by promoting the teaching and studying of nature. They provide professional development to teachers through workshops, courses and institutes, both face-to-face and online, along with publications and special projects.

National Park Service Teacher to Ranger to Teacher Program

The Teacher to Ranger to Teacher (TRT) Program links National Parks with teachers from low income school districts. Selected teachers spend the summer working as park rangers. They perform duties including: developing and presenting interpretive programs, staffing visitor centers, or developing curriculum-based materials. Applications and deadlines vary by region. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) Ocean Explorer Workshops

NOAA Ocean Explorer workshops provide opportunities for teachers and other educators to engage in learning more about ocean exploration. Opportunities will focus on how educators can use the mathematics, science and technology associated with exploring the oceans in their classrooms to help increase awareness and understanding of the ocean world.

Wetland Education in the Classroom

Environmental Concern's team of highly qualified wetland educators travel extensively teaching teachers how to bring wetlands alive and into their classrooms. All of their workshops are full of hands-on, inquiry based, cross-curricular activities that can be brought back to the classroom. Workshops are held at various locations.
