Hurricane Katrina's Environmental and Human Impact

Bookmark and Share

Students will take a closer look at the dynamics of Hurricane Katrina to better understand why it was such a powerful and devastating storm. By examining maps of New Orleans, demographic information, geography, and hurricane behavior, students will be able to explain how the city was ill-equipped for a storm of this magnitude and how the gulf coast can better prepare for large hurricanes in the future.
