CLASSROOMEARTH.ORG ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY

Welcome to the ClassroomEarth.org website of the National Environmental Education and Training Foundation, operating as the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF).  Please take a minute to read the rules that follow and understand that when you become a member of our password protected web site, you agree to follow this Acceptable Use Policy which defines the responsibilities of each member of the Classroom Earth community. These terms may be modified or updated by us from time to time without notice to you. You can review the most current version of the Acceptable Use Policy at any time on this page.

As the line between the actual world and the virtual world of the Internet grows increasingly blurry, users should take care to conduct themselves in both realms in accord with certain community standards outlined in this Acceptable Use Policy. Users of this site are expected to be 18 years of age or older in order to participate in the password protected sections of ClassroomEarth.org.

Classroom Earth was launched in recognition of and with respect for the importance of online social sites as a means of communicating with colleagues. It is important to understand the public nature of these sites and the risks, responsibility and accountability that users must assume if they participate in such communications on ClassroomEarth.org or when they provide links through ClassroomEarth.org to additional profiles pages, including, but not limited to, MySpace, Facebook and others. Any violation of this Acceptable Use Policy can result in the loss of my privileges to use or access the password protected sections of ClassroomEarth.org.  Classroom Earth reserves the right to terminate my membership, delete my profile and any content I have posted on ClassroomEarth.org and/or to prohibit me from using the password protected sections of ClassroomEarth.org if they believe in their sole discretion that I have violated these rules.

Users must also understand that they continually represent their high school even if they are using Internet resources away from or outside of his/her high school’s network and that they may be subject to terms of the school’s Acceptable Use Policy, the terms of which may be more inclusive and for which the violation of such policy may include disciplinary measures in addition to those of Classroom Earth. Users’ names and websites visited may be linked with their high school, and as a result, their school may monitor the content of these sites because of the impact such sites can have on the school’s accountability, public image and student safety.

All members of the Classroom Earth community agree to follow these rules and commit to Classroom Earth’s values. These values include:

  • A commitment to integrity
  • A respect for the rights and feelings of others and
  • A respect for one’s self
