School may be out, but now is a great time to plan next year’s field studies. Field trips allow students to explore classroom content by interacting with the natural world or making connections in their community. These field studies not only increase student engagement, but time spent in nature has benefits for students’ health.
Classroom Earth’s theme for August is field trips, and to help you make the most of your field trip check out our tip sheet: How to Plan a Successful Field Experience. On the site there are a variety of resources to support your field trips, including destination suggestions, activities, grants to fund field trips, and professional development opportunities supporting field trips.
