The Foundation invites K-12 teachers to apply for grants up to $1,500 to develop or implement environmental curricula that integrate hands-on ecology exercises into the classroom. Proposals most likely to receive funding will include one or more of the following elements: (1) students address an important local or global problem, (2) students design and conduct experiments or research projects in order to learn how to do science, while at the same time learning important content and (3) lessons integrate classroom learning and field learning.
A single page “pre-proposal” is due on September 20th, 2011.
